October 7th (Wed.)
We left Vienna for Munich and changed airplanes and then left Munich for Narita.
We chose Munich Airport rather than Frankfurt Airport, because I felt Frankfurt Airport was very large and it took a lot of time to change airplanes. Munich Airport is much easier to change airplanes than Frankfurt Airport.
October 6th (Tue.)
Our company’s people and I went to a certain company by car and it took about two hours drive.
Near Vienna, there are many buildings and many chemical plants. But we drove a highway and then we found a rural area.
We finally reached a company and had two hours meeting and then had a laboratory tour and discuss the evaluation methods.
We could get some good information and get agreement with the company.
October 5th (Mon.)
We left Dusseldorf for Vienna, so we took an airplane at Dusseldorf Airport and stayed near the airport.
October 4th (Sun.)
The next morning I also got up early in the morning and sent my reports to our company by the internet. It cost 5 Euro for 24 hours which was reasonable and easy to send to anywhere. I also sent many mails related to some of societies matters and finished many things.
At 10 o’clock my colleague and I went to the downtown of Dusseldorf and went up to the top of Dusseldorf tower. We could get a fine and beautiful view of the city. It was easy to decide where we would go.
We took a sightseeing boat which took us city tour in Rhine River.
In the afternoon, we visited a famous palace in Vienna which was built many years ago and still well preserved. Even 4 o’clock in the afternoon there were many people who did sightseeing.
October 3rd (Sat.)
In the morning, I got up early in the morning and found out that it was 4 o’clock and could not sleep well because of jetlag. I began to write two days meeting reports and concentrated on doing them for three hours.
After that, the person working for the branch office came to the hotel and picked us up and then we went to Brussel, Belgium. to do the sight of the city. It took about three hours from Dusseldorf to Brussel by way of Achen.
I could not see any houses from highway. It was only green area. We walked in the downtown of Brussel and there were many historical buildings and I took many pictures. We ate a big Belgium lunch and it tasted very nice.
After lunch, we dropped in the grocery market and bought food and gifts there, because it was a national holiday in Germany and no store was opened. After returning to Dussldorf, we went to Japanese Ramen restaurant and returned to the hotel. As I was tired, I went to bed earlier than usual.
October 2nd (Fri.)
We could be relaxed during night and left for the next destination located about three hours drive from the hotel.
We had another meeting near Bon where used to be the capital of West Germany. We had about four hours meeting there and got a lot of information and decided the next approach. After that, we went to Dusseldorf where our branch office was located.
We asked the other people to go to a Japanese restaurant and then we had Japanese food there. I enjoyed eating Japanese food.
I stayed at a hotel in the city of Dusseldorf, but not downtown of the city. It was about 3km from the center of the city. The room was very large and there was a kitchen, book selves, a table and a desk in a room. It was very quite and I stayed there in the weekend.
October 1st (Thurs.)
I got up early morning and then decided to take a walk. It was a park in front of the hotel and walking around the park and walk to the pond. It was chilly and wore jacket. It seemed to be colder than Chiba, Japan.
The person who belongs to German Branch took us to the company near Hanover Airport. We had a meeting in the afternoon and could have a fruitful discussion.
After the meeting, we went to the hotel located about one hour drive from city of Hanover. The hotel was fancy and looked like a cottage in the mountain. Actually it was located in a recreation area and there were some of trails around the hotel. I thought that it was very crowded in the summer vacation.
September 30th (Wed.)
Today it is the day when I am leaving Japan for Europe. I left my home for Narita Airport at 8 o’clock and drove to Narita. It was not crowed in Narita Airport, because it was just after the silver week which means 5 continuous holiday in Japan.
I met two other people at Narita Airport who would go to Europe with me. I had been busy for more than 10 days to prepare for the business trip. This was the third times to have overseas trips.
I took the business seat of Lufthansa Airline and luckily no other person seated next to me, so I could be relaxed .and could sleep well after the lunch. My flight went to Munich Airport, not Frankfurt Airport. Frankfurt Airport is usually very crowded and it takes much more time to have my luggage checked and .I do not like to drop in Frankfurt Airport. After it was about 12 hours flight, my colleague and I arrived at Munich Airport and spent about one hour and then changed airplanes and went to Hanover Airport. It was about 10 o’clock p.m. and went to the hotel in front of the airport. It was easy to access. It was late, so I went to bed after taking a bath.
